Bio Profile of Shri Pradeep Singh
Ambassador of India to Croatia
Pradeep Singh was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Croatia in March 2009. Earlier, he held the same position in Helsinki, Finland and was concurrently accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Estonia.
Ambassador Singh has worked in various capacities in Indian diplomatic missions in Afghanistan, France, Poland, Australia, New Zealand and Finland.
He also has had various assignments in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi including as Under Secretary, Emigration Policy, Deputy Secretary in charge of trade and investment promotion and Deputy Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
He also has wide experience in multilateral work and has worked on South-South Cooperation Projects and Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries (TCDC) with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). These assignments included multi-sectoral and sectoral exercises in Jakarta (Indonesia), Manila (Philippines) and Accra (Ghana). He also represented the Indian delegation in UNESCO, Paris and was in charge of various inter-Governmental committees including in Informatics, Oceanography and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPRO).
He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1981 after having completed his education from the University of Cambridge, UK and University of Delhi.
Ambassador Singh is a keen golfer and also plays many other sports including Tennis.
